Dorothy's Notes:

I found a very good tip for a potato ricer. I used it to wring the liquid out of sauerkraut that I was using in Ruben Sandwiches and it worked perfect.

Directions

1
Try using your ricer to wring excess moisture out of sauerkraut or frozen spinach. Just be sure to do this in batches to drain all the moisture out that you can.
2
This is the first time I have ever really had a nice dry sauerkraut for making Ruben Sandwiches and the sandwich was not soggy at all.
3
You can also use the ricer to mash other soft foods, like avocado for a smooth guacamole.

I know what you mean, Amie, I have often wondered the same thing. Thanks, Bob, I love tips that actually work and this one does.
Joanie, great idea to add. I could never get Zucchini dry enough.

I have even used it to squeeze the juice from lemons. And to rice cooked veggies for creamy soups.

Pat, who ever thought a simple tool could do so much. I will have to give it a try on the lemons.
