Ingredients

1 c hot steeped tea
1 c raisins, currants, sultanas, etc.
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder

This has been in the family cookbook almost forever...it is easy to make and tastes wonderful!

 

Directions

Mix the hot tea, fruit, and brown sugar in a bowl (don't forget to remove the teabag after its steeped to strong)

Leave this mixture to soak overnight.

Next morning, add egg, flour, and baking powder. Mix well. Put into greased 9x5 loaf pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1-1/2 hours.Test center for doneness. Slice and serve warm or cold with butter or jam.
