Roxanna's Story

My 2 children love this sweet corn bead because I make a Honey Butter to place on it when they are warm . yummmmmmm

Ingredients

beaten eggs
1 c
sugar
3 c
flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1 c
oil
1 c
milk
3/4 c
corn meal
1 tsp
vanilla
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder

Directions Step-By-Step

combine all dry ingredients in a bowl ..combine eggs,oil,milk, vanilla add to dry ingredients - Stir until moistened.

bake in a greased -preheated corn bread skillet -I use small scone shape while the skillet is hot I pour the batter .

bake @ 375 for 20-25 mins. Serve with honey butter

Honey Butter : 1/2 cup butter (soft) ,1/4 cup honey , 2 tsp. grated orange peel , 1/4 tesp. cinnamon . place butter in a bowl with electric mixer until fluffy slowly add honey to whipped butter until smooth - stir in cinnamon & orange peel .

very good. thick batter. 13x9x2 pyrex pan worked well. i preheated the pan with a little bacon fat in it. i love the crust you get.

no only 3 cups of flour. I updated the recipe ..thanks

3 cups of flour is written twice, does it really use 6 cups of flour?
