Quick Beer Bread - MW
Serve homemade bread in under an hour - possible even on a weeknight.

- all purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp
- 1 Tbsp
- baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp
- 12 oz
- beer (room temperature, but not flat)
- egg, beaten
1Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position. Preheat oven to 375°.
2Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add beer and stir with a fork until just combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead quickly to form a ball.
3Place bread on a baking sheet and confidently slit an "X" on top with a serrated or very sharp knife. Brush loaf with egg wash.
4Bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool and serve.
