mom's sticky buns
Mom would make these quite often in the winter along with bread, and coffee cakes. I carried on that tradition while my kids were growing up.

Ingredients For mom's sticky buns

I pkgyeast

1/4 cwarm water

1 cscalded milk

2 Tbspsugar

2 Tbspshortning plus 1 egg

1 tspsalt

3 1/2 cflour
- FILLING

1/2 csugar

1/4 cmelted butter
-
1 1/2 tspcinnamon
- TOPPING

4 Tbspbutter

I cbrown sugar

1 cchopped nuts (your favorite walnuts, peacans)

1/2 cmaple syrup
How To Make mom's sticky buns

1Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Combine sugar salt , shortning and milk, cool till Luke warm.

3Add 1 cup flour beat well, Add yeast and 1 egg beating well

4Add remaining flour to form soft dough. Cover let rise till double 1 1/2 -2 hours.

5Mix Cinnamon and sugar for filling, melt butter.

6Divide dough in half, roll out one half of dough to a 16x8 rectangle using half of melted butter spread on dough sprinkle half of the cinnamon and sugar over dough roll up like jelly roll seal edge cut in 1 inch rounds. Repeat with second dough

7In a round cake pan melt 1 /2 of topping ingredients add nuts .

8Place rounds on top of filling. Let rise till double in size bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or tops are brown. Remove from oven turn upside down on wire rack.
