| 1 c | yellow corn meal |
| 1 c | flour |
| 1/4 c | sugar |
| 4 tsp | baking powder |
| 1/2 tsp | salt |

Directions:
Sift together all ingredients, place in a plastic bag or decorative container at room temperature.
Make sure container is large enough so that a bow or decorative ornament can be placed with the instuctionsInstructions For Tag:
Pour package of mix into a bowl. Add 1 egg, 1 cup milk, and 4 Tbsp. softened butter. Whisk or stir until smooth.
Pour batter into a greased 8x8x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Duh! I just now got it! You get the jar or mug all ready with the necessary ingredients and the person RECEIVING it finishes preparing it! I guess I wasn't paying attention. Yes, I have received gifts like this several years ago from one of my nieces. They are fun!

YES that is exactly what you do... LOL These are fun and for gifts, I think they would be excellent in a basket of sorts...you know some of them can be put on your pantry shelf for a much later date when you feel you might need it.
I am done for now with 'in a jar'. Russ who is on here sent me a few sites and I couldn't believe how many 'in a jar' recipes people have dreamed up. There are many, trust me. I had fun looking through them. If you would like the sites, I would be very happy to give them to you or you could even pass them along...or I could post them on here... haha
