Batter Bread (Killeen ISD Recipe)
Sprinkle yeast over warm water, let dissolve. Stir in sugar. Add milk, melted butter (cooled), and eggs.
Sift together flour and salt. Add 1/2 to the above mixture, beat well with mixer on medium. Mix remaining flour and oats, add to batter, and mix thoroughly.
Spread into greased cookie sheet, 11x16x1". Let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
Bake at 375 degrees about 25-30 minutes. Serve hot with butter.
