yellow cornmeal
1 c
all purpose flour
4 tsp
baking powder
4-6 Tbsp
sugar, adjust to your sweetness liking
1/2 tsp
salt
1 c
milk or buttermilk, your preference

large egg
1/4 c
vegetable oil

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add wet ingredients and whisk till smooth about 30 seconds

Pour batter into a greased 8 inch square pan and bake about 21 minutes.
That's it.

Variations:
for corn muffins, pour batter into lined muffin cups and bake about 16 minutes
