Ingredients For french breakfast puffs

  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1/4 t. ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 t. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/3 c butter or margarine,melted
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine,melted

How To Make french breakfast puffs

    In a mixing bowl,combine flour,1/2 c sugar,baking powder,nutmeg and salt. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. In another bowl beat egg slightly,stir in milk an 1/3 c melted butter. Add egg mixture to flour mixture. Stir just till moistened (the batter will be lumpy) Lightly grease muffin cups. Fill cups two-thirds full with batter. Bake in a 350 degree oven 20-25 minutes or until golden. In a shallow bowl combine 1/4 c sugar and cinnamon. Immediately dip tops of hot muffins into the remaining melted butter,then into the cinnamon sugar till coated. Serve warm.
