Ingredients

2 c
yellow cornmeal
1 c
all purpose flour
1/4 c
sugar (optional)
1 tsp
salt
4 tsp
baking powder
2
eggs
1 1/2 c
milk
1/4 c
melted shortening

Step-By-Step

1Sift first five ingredients into a bowl.
Add two eggs, 1 1/2 cups of milk and 1/4 cup melted shortening.

2Beat only until smooth

3Bake in well greased pan for 20 to 25 minutes in a 425 F oven.
