1In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with electric mixer.
2Add egg, mashed bananas, and baking soda which has been dissolved in 1 T. hot water
3In a smaller bowl, combine well the flour, salt, nutmeg, and nuts.
4Combine the wet and dry ingredients and gold together gently until just mixed. Spoon into prepared muffin pan and decorate top of each muffin with a walnut half.
5Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on rack.
