Ingredients

3/4 c butter
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp rum
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 c all purpose flour
1/4 c ground almonds
1 Tbsp grated orange rind
1/4 c raisins (optional)

A delicious alternative to ordinary muffins, this recipe contains a couple of "secret ingredients."

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, rum, vanilla, and milk.

In a medium bowl, mix together cinnamon, baking powder, and flour.

Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Gently mix in almonds, orange rind and raisins.

Pour batter into greased muffin tins, filling half full. Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 25-30 minutes, until nicely browned.

I see the secret, RUM! I remember a long time ago our family would go to a German/American Restaurant. They first served you a giant basket of several different kinds of hot warm rolls and butter. The one thing they did make that I can't find that comes close to is their Schnitzel. It was so amazing. Thanks for sharing this :)
