DaWanda's StoryTried this recipe by accident and my family loved it. I had extra okra cut up to fry so I threw it in my cornbread mix.

It is truly a summer and southern thing but everyone that ate them adored the okra addition. My family are okra fans thus, we loved them with fish, veggies, and/or soups or stews.

Melanie I hope you enjoy these warm and friendly southern hoecakes! My family loves it when I make them. As a matter of fact I have plenty on hand since they are coming in daily from our garden. I will make these again tonight to eat with our stew. Thanks for posting and happy cooking!
