1 lb dates, chopped
1 c nuts, chopped

In the recent past this bread was served at many of our military bases.
It was also know as "blondie bread" in some parts of the country.

Beat eggs, add sugar and beat, about two minutes or until well mixed.
Fold in flour, baking powder, dates and nuts.

Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking pan at 350 F about 35 minutes, or until done

Pat; This was the Military version of a chew bread (sometimes called "Blondie Bread")by the soldiers.

The 5 Tablespoons of flour only represent about a 1/2 cup.
Most recipes call for 1 1/2 to 2 cups of flour.
