instant coffee powder
Cream butter and sugar using mixer in a large bowl, then beat in egg YOLKS and vanilla.
Combine flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
In small bowl with mixer, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
Pour half of the batter into a greased 13 x 9 pan; combine filling ingredients and sprinkle over batter.
Carefully top with remaining batter and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool on wire rack and serve.
