Ingredients

3 large
eggs
1/8 c
milk
1 tsp
granulated sugar
1 pinch
salt
1/2 tsp
real maple extract
1 1/2-2 Tbsp
butter
4-5 slice
bread (your choice)
1/2 c
maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp
powdered sugar (optional)

Step-By-Step

1In a wide, shallow bowl, mix together eggs, milk, sugar, salt and maple extract.
2Over medium heat, melt butter in 10-12 inch skillet.
3Working with one at a time, place slice of bread in egg mixture for 5 or 6 seconds, turn it over in the mixture to completely coat then place in skillet with melted butter.
4Repeat with remaining slices.
5Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, checking undersides for browning; turn slices over when puffed up and golden brown on bottom.
6When both sides are lightly browned, remove to warm plate.
7Serve with warm maple syrup and powdered sugar for garnish, if desired. (A few strips of crispy bacon on the side is a great accompaniment!)
8Refrigerate any leftovers.
