I love breads that are made without using yeast and I'm all over this recipe. I could have this with a little butter slathered on and a cup of coffee and be good to go.

Ingredients

2-1/4 c
all purpose flour
1/4 c
sugar
1-1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda

egg
1 c
buttermilk
1/4 c
butter, melted
8 slice
cooked bacon, crumbled
1 c
shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 c
chopped fresh chives

Directions Step-By-Step

In a medium bowl, mix the first four ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk and butter until blended.

Add egg mixture to the flour mixture along with the bacon, cheese and chives; stir just until moistened.

Spoon mixture into a sprayed 8x4-inch loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350ยบ oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 15 minutes and the remove to a wire rack; cool completely.

NOTE: May be wrapped tightly and frozen for up to 3 months.
