I got this recipe from a Amish Cookbook I don't remember which one.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
flour
2 pkgs
yeast (4 1/2 tsp instant)
3/4 c
milk
1/4 c
oil
1/2 c
water
1/4 c
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 1/4 c
flour
1
egg
1 1/2 c
raw chopped apples, opt. (can use other fresh fruit in season
topping
3/4 c
butter
1 c
brown sugar
1 tsp
cinnamon
3/4 c
nuts
1 Tbsp
light corn syrup
1 Tbsp
water

Step-By-Step

1In a bowl mix 1 1/2 flour and yeast. Heat milk, water, oil, sugar and salt until warm
2Pour into yeast mixture. Add eggs. Beat for 3 minutes. Stir in 1 1/4 cup flour and chopped apples by hand. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
3While dough is rising mix topping.
4Heat all ingredients in pan until melted. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan.
5Stir down batter and drop by tablespoon on topping. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool 1 minute then cover with cookie sheet and invert to remove buns.
