- BISCUITS

4 c flour

1 teaspoon salt

8 teaspoons baking powder

2 tablespoons sugar

1 c shortening
-
1 1/3 c milk
- SAUSAGE GRAVY

1 lb fresh country sausage

2 tablespoons butter
-
1/2 c flour
-
4 c milk

4 oz fresh mushrooms,sliced

1/2 lb bacon,cooked and chopped,optional
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
How To Make ed's biscuit and sausage

1Biscuits Preheat oven to 425 deg. Mix dry ingredients together well. Cut in shortening,mix well. Slowly add milk while mixing until batter combines well. Knead a few times on lightly floured surface.Pat out to 1/2 inch cut,place on greased baking sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes.

2Sausage Gravy Crumble sausage into large saucepan, add mushrooms. Cook over medium-high heat until sausage and mushrooms are browned and thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Remove from saucepan; add 2 tbsp butter and flour to make roux. Pour in in 4 cups milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbly and thickened. Add cooked sausage, mushrooms, bacon pieces; mix well.Pour over hot biscuits.
