Cornmeal Cheddar Biscuits

Everyone in my family gave these a "thumbs up." Definitely what we consider a "do over!"

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
all purpose flour or bread flour
1/2 c
self-rising buttermilk corn meal
2 Tbsp
sugar
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 c
butter, softened
3/4 c
shredded cheddar
1 1/4 c
milk (buttermilk is great in this!)

Step-By-Step

1In a bowl, combine dry ingredients.
2Cut in butter until crumbly
3Stir in cheese and milk.
4Drop by serving spoon (about 1/4 cup) onto a sprayed baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
