Quick Whipping Cream Biscuits

Great tasting easy biscuits! Serve warm with butter and jelly or molasses.

1/2 c
butter or margarine
2 c
self- rising flour
3/4 to 1 c
whipping cream*
1/4 c
butter or margarine melted

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 400.
Cut 1/2 cup butter into flour with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Add whipping cream, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Roll or pat dough to 3/4-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch round cutter; place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 400 for 13 to 15 minutes. Brush biscuits with 1/4 cup melted butter.
* 3/4 cup buttermilk and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, stirred together, may be substituted for whipping cream.

Thanks Michelle. They are very good. Here in the South biscuits are eaten with meals, for breakfast and even dessert!lol

I just made these last night except my recipe is just White Lily SR flour and heavy whipping cream and I just do "drop biscuits". I'm interested to see how your version comes out. Everything is better with a little more butter!!

For years I've been using Bisquick to make biscuits.....I'll never do that again. This are not only better but just as easy to make and much more economical. Thank you so much for posting this recipe.
