Bacon Cheese Biscuits

- 2 c
- self rising flour
- 1 Tbsp
- 1/2 tsp
- baking soda
- 1/2 c
- shortening (crisco)
- 1 c
- 12 oz
- sliced bacon..cooked and crumbled
- 1 c
- (4oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1Preheat oven to 425.
2Combine in a large bowl the first 3 ingredients.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in buttermilk until just combined.
Fold on bacon & cheese.
3Turn onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead 4-5 times.
Roll to 1/2" thickness;cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter.
Place on a greased cookie sheet.
4Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
