This recipe was in the newspaper a few years ago, it is from King Arthur Flour, and you are going to love it - my family is just crazy for it. Makes a great snack any day! (I only tweaked it a little)

Ingredients For bacon biscuit bake

  • TOPPING:
  • 1 lb
    bacon, cooked, chopped small
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter,melted
  • BISCUITS:
  • 2 1/4 c
    bisquick
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 c
    cold butter
  • 1 c
    cold dairy buttermilk (must be buttermilk)

How To Make bacon biscuit bake

    Heat oven to 475^. Lightly spray 9-inch round cake pan.Set aside. Topping: Combine all ingredients and mix well until combined. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Set aside.

    Biscuits: Whisk dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Work in cold butter with pastry blender. Stir in buttermilk, stirring to make a sticky dough.

    Drop dough in heaping Tablespoons of use a cookie scoop, slightly overfilled. Bake for 10 minutes - then turn off the oven- leave the pan in the oven for 5-10 more minutes, until it gets golden brown. Immediately turn pan over onto serving plate. Scrape any topping left in pan onto biscuits. Pull apart to serve and eat. Oh this is so good, with eggs in the morning.
