fresh calamari, or buy cleaned fresh calamari and thaw.
Clean calamari, cut into 1/2" rings. In zip-lock plastic bag, Combine flour, salt, pepper and seasonings.
Add calamari, in small batches to bag. Seal, shake to coat evenly. Heat oil in lg skillet, over med-high until very hot.
Fry calamari in small batches 4-6 mins each side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. You can serve these w/ marinara sauce or hot pickled pepper.
