Cajun Shrimp

Quick and easy. Can add heat by increasing the cayenne pepper.

Ingredients

2 lb
unpeeled, large raw shrimp
2 Tbsp
butter
1/2
sweet onion, diced
1 Tbsp
chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
1 Tbsp
chopped fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
1
bay leaf
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
ground red pepper
1 clove
garlic

Step-By-Step

1Peel shrimp and devein.
2Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat; add onion and next 5 ingredients, and saute for 5 minutes or until onions are tender. Stir in garlic and saute for about 1 more minute.
3Stir in shrimp, and cook, stirring occasionally, about 6 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink, WATCH CAREFULLY!! Remove and discard bay leaf.
