Ingredients For texas cavier

  • 1 can
    sylvia's field peas with snaps (drained, rinsed, and snaps removed)
  • 1 can
    black eyed peas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can
    shoepeg white corn, drained
  • 1 c
    cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 bunch
    scallions-sliced thin
  • 2-3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • DRESSING
  • 1 Tbsp
    tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil
  • 1/4 c
    red wine vinegar

How To Make texas cavier

    Combine peas, corn, cilantro, basil, scallions and garlic in a bowl.

    In a separate bowl, mix dressing ingredients then pour over pea mixture and stir. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Best made 1-2 days ahead of time to marinate.
