Vickie's Story

These are aunthentic Vietnamese egg rolls.Most ingredients you can find at your local store.

Ingredients

2 lb
ground pork
1/2
yellow onion diced
2
finely grated carrots
2 bunch
cellophane noodles..in the asian isle
2 clove
garlic.minced
2 Tbsp
oyster sauce
2 tsp
soy sauce...i use golden mountain soy seasoning
1 tsp
sugar
1 1/2 tsp
garlic salt
1 tsp
pepper
1 pkg
egg roll wrappers
1
egg
oil for frying

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large bowl soak noodles for 10 minutes in warm water.I cut them up after soaking

While noodles are soaking mix the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl. Then add noodles. Let the meat mixture sit for about 30 minutes.

Use about 2 spoonfulls of the meat in a wrapper..wrap up seal with egg.

Deep fry for about 8 minutes.

this is very similar to my sisterinlaws recipe.she has a few more things in hers.she uses fish sauce,lemon juice,chili powder and chili flakes mixed for a dipping sauce.spoiled me for eating egg rolls.pinched yours to try.i don't like cabbage in egg rolls either.thanks for sharing.

I hate cabbage..lol But sometimes I will buy the matchstick carrots and use them.

Instead of grating carrots, when I do egg rolls, I buy a bag of ready made cole slaw, pour it in with the mixture, which i cook before rolling, and let the heat of the mix steam it. Saves a little time and I like cabbage in my rolls.
