Ingredients For bistro beef cocktail smokies

  • 1 t. butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup picante sauce or medium hot salsa
  • 1 pkg, cream cheese, 3 oz
  • 4 oz. shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • dash paprika
  • 2 cans chopped green chiles, 4 oz. each
  • dash worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 3t. hot sauce or tabasco sauce
  • 2 pounds cocktail smokies, such as john morrell
  • cooking oil spray
  • tortilla chips

How To Make bistro beef cocktail smokies

    Melt butter in large skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and saute until tender. Add picante sauce and stir. Gradually add cream cheese and shredded cheese. Stir in paprika, green chiles, Worcestershire sauce, salt and hot sauce; continue cooking and stirring until cheese is melted and mixture is well blended. Preheat oven to 350. Arrange sausages on baking sheet lined with foil; spray with cooking oil spray. Bake for 12 to 18 minutes or until heated through. Put sausages in a bowl and pour cheese sauce over the top. Serve with tortilla chips and toothpicks. Makes 10 servings. This makes a great snack or appetizer for a cocktail party. Cooking the Costco way
