Baked Brie with Warm Syrup

This is a well known recipe, here is my way of serving it. It is not in this picture because our daughter is allergic to tree nuts, but we used to add sliced almonds to the warm syrup, really adds a nice touch. This recipe is inspired by my step mom who would serve it warmed,and unwrapped with the syrup and almonds. Then I had it some where else and it was pastry wrapped, but no syrup, so I combined the two recipes.

Ingredients

puff pastry sheet, thawed
1
large, medium brie wedge

EGG WASH

1
egg white
1 Tbsp
water

WARM SYRUP TOPPING

1 c
maple syrup
1/2 c
sliced almonds

ACCOMPANIMENTS

water crackers
sliced apples
grapes

Directions Step-By-Step

Brie
Preheat oven to 400
Once pastry sheet is thawed place whole wedge, with rind, on pastry sheet and fold over top to wrap. Brush top and sides with egg wash
Bake in oven for 20 minutes, allow to sit for 5 minutes

Maple syrup and Almonds
In a small sauce pot pour in maple syrup and almonds, heat slowly

Serving
Once brie is done and has rested for 5 minutes put on a serving plate and slowly pour warm maple syrup and almonds on top
