This recipe is from a cookbook my son gave me called Naomi's Home Companion. (Naomi Judd)

I served them as of one the tea sandwiches at a tea party.
Everyone liked them.

Method:
Broil

Ingredients

1/4 c
grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c
mayonnaise
4 c
wheat bread, crusts removed
very thin slices vidalia or other sweet onion

Step-By-Step

1Preheat the broiler
2In a small bowl, mix together the cheese and mayonnaise. Spread evenly on the bread slices. Cut each into 4 equal squares. Place a onion slice on each square.
3Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat until browned, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
4Makes 16 small opened faced sandwiches. These can be cut smaller for bite size. I count 2 sandwiches for a serving.
