My kids just love Stromboli and would eat it everyday, if I felt like making the dough...LOL! I decided to take the easy way out and used a store bought crust, which I rarely ever do. It turned out terrific and even tastier than I thought it would be. Was a real hit with my family and I'll be using store bought more often...I was impressed.

Serve at your next party...it will surely be a big hit!

1 Tbsp
olive oil
1/4 lb
bulk sausage - i used spicy bob evans
1/4 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
diced onion - fairly small
1 Tbsp
minced, garlic
10 slice
pepperoni - slice in half
& pepper to taste
2 tsp
dried oregano
1/2 c
your favorite pizza sauce - plus extra for dipping
1 tube(s)
refrigerated pizza crust dough
8 slice
provolone cheese
1 Tbsp
melted, butter and extra oregano
sauce for dipping, optional


Step 1 Direction Photo

1In a medium to large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Heat.

Now, add the sausage, ground beef, onion, garlic and pepperoni, oregano, salt and pepper. Breaking up the meat as it cooks. Stirring often.

2Once meat is no longer pink, drain. Let cool for a few minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degree F.

Grease a sheet pan.

3Unroll crust and place on prepared sheet pan.I don't spread the dough any larger.

4Lay 4 slices of the provolone cheese on the one long side of crust, leaving a one inch border on every edge.

Spoon browned meat and veggies over the cheese.

Next spread the sauce over the meat and then top with remaining cheese slices.

5Carefully fold the meatless side of dough over the filling and pinch all edges to seal.

Brush the top of dough with melted butter and sprinkle with a few pinches of oregano.

6Place in oven and bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.

7Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice like a loaf of bread and serve with extra warmed pizza sauce.
