This recipe comes from Recipes from the Heart Cookbook--a book from The Pampered Chef. Who can resist bacon? Cream cheese? Yum--it gets even better! Crescent rolls. Very easy appetizer too. Also, lower fat substitutions.

Ingredients For creamy bacon bites

1 pkg(3 oz.) cream cheese or light (neufchatel) cream cheese, softened

4 sliceregular bacon or turkey bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled

2 Tbspchopped onion

1/8 tspblack pepper

1 pkg(8 ozs.) refrigerated crescent rolls, regular or reduced-fat
How To Make creamy bacon bites

1Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease baking sheet.

2In a small bowl, combine first 4 ingredients.

3Separate crescent dough into 2 rectangles; press seams and perforations together, with fingers to seal.

4Spread cream cheese mixture onto rectangles; roll up, starting with longest sides. Press seams together to seal.

5Cut each roll, into 16 slices; place, cut-side down, on prepared baking sheet.

6Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm. Makes 32 appetizers.
