This recipe comes from Recipes from the Heart Cookbook--a book from The Pampered Chef. Who can resist bacon? Cream cheese? Yum--it gets even better! Crescent rolls. Very easy appetizer too. Also, lower fat substitutions.

Ingredients For creamy bacon bites

  • 1 pkg
    (3 oz.) cream cheese or light (neufchatel) cream cheese, softened
  • 4 slice
    regular bacon or turkey bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped onion
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 pkg
    (8 ozs.) refrigerated crescent rolls, regular or reduced-fat

How To Make creamy bacon bites

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease baking sheet.

    In a small bowl, combine first 4 ingredients.

    Separate crescent dough into 2 rectangles; press seams and perforations together, with fingers to seal.

    Spread cream cheese mixture onto rectangles; roll up, starting with longest sides. Press seams together to seal.

    Cut each roll, into 16 slices; place, cut-side down, on prepared baking sheet.

    Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm. Makes 32 appetizers.
