Shannon's Notes:
I call theses truffles in disguise. Easy to make and yummy in your tummy as my kids say.

Once you dip them in the white chocolate you can customize them with any holiday sprinkles to fit your occasion. Enjoy!

Comments from the Test Kitchen:
What can I say, these are just plain addictive! Anyone can make these simple treats - kids, non-cooks, even bachelors! (It's true, I've seen it with my own eyes.) But don't plan on eating just one...

Directions

1
Add oreos to food processor and blend until fine.
2
Add cream cheese to oreo crumbs and blend until dough-like.
3
Chill mixture for 15 minutes then roll into bite-size balls. Chill balls for 15 minutes.
4
Melt almond bark in microwave according to package directions. Dip chilled oreo balls in melted chocolate using fork so chocolate can "drip off". Set covered cookie balls onto waxed paper and let set aprox. 30 minutes. If using sprinkles or decorative sugars do so before chocolate sets. I usually do a dozen at a time sprinkling after each dozen.

These are oh so good! I make these for our camping club campouts. Everyone loves them, in fact I have to hide them from my husband or he will eat them all! LOL

I have been making these for a long time... someone asked about the Almond Bark. Bark can be tricky at times, I find. I always add about 1/2 T crisco to the Bark as it is melting, that seems to do the trick... and to make them really shine put them in the fridge as soon as you have 12 or so done!
Also from experience I have learned not to try and dip frozen cookie balls in the Almod Bark, it cracks and looks terrible!

White almond bark is right next to the chocolate almond bark. Wal-Mart sells it. I went to the store today & a pkg of Oreos was $5. I'm not paying that. I think the next batch I make I will try to use either brownies or find a good chocolate cookie recipe & try to put them through the food processor. On using the almond bark with frozen ones, I always make them that way & have no trouble, but I add paraffin to the almond bark.

I have tried these cookies! Boy have I! I made 9 dozen for our cookie exchange at our Thanksgiving carrry in club meeting last month! Everybody did like them!
They are soooooo rich, you cant eat more than one or two believe me!
I dipped mine in a variety of white, choco, carmel and peanut butter bark or chips! All work out good!
Also with the oreos, I bought the different kinds of them too they have available. The regular, choco and choco, with the red creme, and candy cane ones! This adds color to the center of your cookies!
Also, yes Oreos can be very expensive to buy .
I also bought a few pkgs of Walmarts version of the Oreo! Tastes the same with just half the price! I liked them a lot!
I didnt have a name for the cookies when I happened upon the recipe!
So I named it myself and called them "Cheaters Cookies"!
Because you are cheating making cookies with cookies! lol
Thank you!

Once these are made, do you have to keep them refrigerated?

I was wondering if you could freeze these? They sound so good and I would love to make them but I will need to freeze them.

Heather, I kept mine in the fridge, but I also left some on the countertop for a few hours...I like them best at room temp! They melt in your mouth that way! When kept in the ,they're much firmer.
