Directions
* If you can't find Kentucky Kernel seasoned flour at the store then you are welcome to use 3 cups of self rising flour seasoned with salt and pepper* (don't worry about adding the baking powder if your using self rising flour.)
I buy my KK seasoning at Walmart but you can always order it online @ Amazon or hodgsonmill.com.Wash the chicken and set a sideIn a large bowl beat the eggs.Pour the buttermilk into a 9x13 glass baking dish and add the eggs and mix togetherPlace the chicken into the buttermilk and egg mixture and let marinate at least an hour. (you can also cover it and let it sit overnight in the fridge)Mix the 1TBL baking powder together with the seasoned flour. Roll the chicken pieces one at a time in the flour and place in the skillet or fryer. Put at many pieces in the skillet or fryer that will fit without crowding. Fry until golden brown. If your frying in a skillet then it's 7-8 minutes on each side or in a fry daddy @ 360 degrees for about 15 min.

This was great tasting. I cooked it in the electric skillet with peanut oil. Someone said that if I used crisco that it would be less greasy. Any thoughts or recommendations. Mine was probably 4/5 yums but always striving for perfection. Thanks for the recipe. I should have a better chance of getting my man now. Ha Ha Ha. love the name!!!!

Deanna I cook mine in a large fry daddy. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. Fried chicken is supposed to be some what greasy I guess. I didn't notice that it was really greasy when I cooked it. I also used peanut oil. I've never tried crisco though.

Leah thanks so much for this recipe. I have been getting squash and other veggies from garden. Been frying up the same way. I still dont have a man but getting lots of friends. LOL. Crisco worked good. Really crunchy.
Also tried coconut shrimp: it got 6/5 yums I want this every night. Trying to diet too! Ill just keep giving stuff away. LOVE it!

Some tricks for UN-greasy fried chicken....ALWAYS cook it at 350 degrees and check the temperature with a meat thermometer occasionally. NEVER croud the pan, cook it in batches, 3-4 peices at a time. After it's done, place the chicken on a rack at least 1/2 inch high on a baking sheet lined with paper towels. You want the air to circulate under and around the chicken. Keep it in a 150 degree oven until you're all done. You could take the last batch and put it in for about 5 minutes to "air-dry" and reduce the grease. Also, frying thighs takes 8 minutes.

We tried this chicken and wow was it good. We don't have the KK seasoning here in our town, so I used the flour alternative as you suggested. It was fabulous! I will always make my fried chicken using your recipe! Thanks so much! We just had our 15th anniversary so I don't need to catch him, but I don't want him to get off my line either! So I'm making him this chicken! He loved it! LOL! Thanks for a great recipe, Leah!
