I agree Denise. I wish people would just rate the recipe. Say if you liked it or not. Don't comment if you changed the recipe, or haven't tried it yet. I have made this several times and it is a very good recipe. Best right out of the oven.

Trying to understand why people comment before they try the recipe with comments such as "want to try this", or "it's in the oven now", etc. It would be more helpful to hear a review after the dessert has been tasted. :/

This is an awesome recipe that doesn't take a lot of effort. Got one in the oven right now. Trying to hold out on the waiting part and the house smells wonderful.

The cake was a success! I definitely recommend serving over ice cream. It has a rich chocolate buttery taste. The texture is crunchy on top and gooey in the center. I did make a few changes. I substituted brown sugar for the topping because I ran out of white. I also made my own self rising flour= 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. of salt, 1 1/2 tsps. of baking powder. Sift together and makes 1 cup of self rising flour..........heavenly Thanks for sharing..8-)

Dear Erin, congratulations on this recipe! I have made it four times for my apartment building neighbors. They all say the same thing....."When will you be making this again?" I did experiment and cut back on the butter....just used one stick the last time I made it. It still came out wonderful and tasted just as decadent! We loooovvvve it!
