Buttermilk prices have soared lately. Try this...it does work. I've done this many times myself.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
lemon juice or white vinegar
enough milk to equal 1 cup or whatever the amount is needed for your recipe

Directions Step-By-Step

Stir vigorously then let stand 5 minutes. I have also used apple cider vinegar with great success. Another member has used lime juice with success as well.

Well.... all I had available was lime juice.... and it worked fine... LOL necessity is the mother of invention! LOL

I've done it with lemon juice and vinegar. It all depends on what I get my hands on first. LOL!

I make this all the time... I prefer the lemon juice... but I used lime juice the other day to make biscuits...
