Ingredients For homemade "what's in the house soup"

any amountanything you can find in your pantry - although it is generally a vegetable soup

any amounthamburger, cooked (gen 1/3 to 1 lb.)

any amountcanned tomatos iny style - stewed, chopped, crushed or v* or tomato juice
-
any amountcanned or leftover frozen veggies

1-2 cbeef or chicken broth (it is not usually in most peoples' pantries but try it sometime)

4 - 6potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

3 - 4large carrots, sliced into 1/3 in rounds

1large or 2 small sweet onions, peeled and chopped
-
1-3large ribs of celery or small bits of celery, sliced

any amountleftover meat, esp. beef - you could add chicken or anything else that you like

amny amounchopped cabbage, but bear in mind that cabbage is strong and 1 cup or a little less is better

1 - 2 Tbspmrs. dash original or table blend

1/4 tsppepper

saltif desired

any amountspices you particularly enjoy
How To Make homemade "what's in the house soup"

1Go through your refrigerator, freezer, and shelves, loking for odd bits of food, and leftover frozen veggies - odd cans,etc..This is where you make it your soup - get creative.

2Brown any meats and drain and put into large pot. Add broth, tomato juice or products. Add any leftover cooked meats.

3Peel and cut up potatoes, carrots, onion and celery. Add to pot. Add 2 cups water as needed. It depends on how much tomato products and broth or soup base you may have. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium low.

4Simmer( with seasonings) for about 1-2 hours. Add canned veggies (and noodles or pasta, if you like either) Cook through.

5Serve hot with cornbread, biscuits, or french bread and fruit.
