Ingredients For seafood chowder

  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 2 c
    chopped yellow onions
  • 1 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    diced carrots
  • 4
    bay leaves
  • 1 tsp
    chopped garlic
  • 4 c
    clam juice
  • 3 c
    tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 lb
    new potatoes,quartered
  • 2 c
    fresh sweet corn kernels
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped parsley
  • 4 lb
    raw assorted,cleaned shellfish(med shrimp,shucked oysters,crabmeat,diced lobster meat,wholke mussels,clams
  • 2 Tbsp
    finely chopped fresh parsley leaves
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper to taste

How To Make seafood chowder

  • 1
    In a large saucepan over medium heat,add oil.When the oil is hot,stir in onions celery and carrots.

    Season vegetables with salt cayenne pepper,and bay leaves.Saute for 6 minutes,or untill the vegetable are tender

    Stir in clam juice and tomatoes,and bring to a boil.

    Add the the potatoes and corn,simmer for 15 minutes,or till potatoes are fork tender,

    Add the seafood and simmer the soup for 5 minutes.Stir in the parsley,and enjoy!
