Ingredients For green bean soup (margha)

  • 2 lb
    lamb or beef chunks
  • 1 lb
    fresh or canned green beans
  • 3 Tbsp
    oil
  • 4 clove
    garlic
  • 1 md
    onion chopped
  • 2 md
    tomatoes chopped or 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    curry powder (mild)
  • 1 tsp
    dried lemon (loomi basrah crushed) or 1 small loomi poked with a fork

How To Make green bean soup (margha)

    Boil meat until tender. In a separate pot fry onions and garlic in oil when translucent
  • 2
    Add meat and stir gently add beans and continue to fry moving items around the pot. Add tomatoes, then add 2-3 cups of water mixed with tomato paste.

    Add salt and curry to taste, sprinkle dried lemon (loomi basrah) or add one loomi that has been poked with a fork several times.

    Cook for 10-20 minutes. serve with white Basmati rice
