The original recipe came from Paula Deen. I have revised it a little to make it a bit healthier.

Ingredients For succotash

  • 1/2 tsp
    kernel season's gourmet popcorn seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    granulated bouillon
  • 16 oz
    lima beans, frozen
  • 6 slice
    turkey bacon, cut into tiny pieces
  • 16 oz
    sweet corn, frozen
  • 2 stick
    butter buds powdered mix
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper

How To Make succotash

    In a medium saucepan, add the popcorn seasoning, seasoned salt, and bouillon to 2 cups of water. Add the lima beans, and bring to boil. Reduce the heat, cover and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes or until the lima beans are tender and some of the water has been absorbed.

    In a medium skillet, fry the bacon until very crisp.

    Drain off all except 1 T. of grease. (There is very little grease with turkey bacon). Add the corn to the skillet with the bacon pieces and cook over medium low heat for about 10 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, add the butter beans to the skillet. Add a little of the butter bean liquid to create a sauce. Add the Butter Buds and pepper. Stir well and serve.
