I never had stuffed artichokes before I started dating my husband more than 34 years ago. I Loved them!! My mother-in-law showed me how to make them, and I have made them ever since. My husband thinks they taste "just like Mom's". Enjoy!

Ingredients For stuffed artichokes

  • 4-6
    fresh artichokes
  • 1 c
    bread crumbs, seasoned
  • 2 Tbsp
    parmesan cheese
  • salt, pepper, garlic powder, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice

How To Make stuffed artichokes

  • 1
    Place artichokes on a cutting board, and cut 1 inch off the top, and cut the stem so the artichoke will stand up straight.

    trim the points off the rest of the leaves with a kitchen scissor.

    Place 1 cup of breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl, and add parmesan cheese, and salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

    spread leaves apart, and fill with breadcrumb mixture.

    Place artichokes in a deep saucepan, and fill halfway with water. Add lemon juice to water to prevent artichokes from turning brown. Simmer, covered, for at least 1 hour, or until a leaf can be pulled out easily.
