kale - savory lacinato

Lacinato kale is a super kale with blueish green leaves.. It has a much hardier texture and superior taste than the kale you often find in the supermarket. You can find this at farmers' markets and produce specialty stores.

Ingredients For kale - savory lacinato

  • 1 bunch
    lacinato kale
  • 2 Tbsp
    coconut oil, ghee, or olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper flakes -
  • 1/2 md
    red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 md
    red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove
    garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried cranberries
  • 1 Tbsp
    sliced almonds
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    organic sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper or to taste

How To Make kale - savory lacinato

  • 1
    Pull kale leaves from stems. Discard stems. Rough chop leaves. In a dutch oven( or steamer), cook kale in very little water until just wilted. Drain.

    Preheat a large saute pan over medium heat. Add coconut oil, ghee, or olive oil to pan. Add in red pepper flakes, onion and red bell peppers and saute unti vegetables are crisp tender. Add in remaining ingredients and cook for about a minute, stirring constantly. Add in kale and continue cooking and stirring for about fiive minutes.
