One of my dear friends passed this on to me great on chicken beef brisket ribs even sandwich or sloppy joes.

Ingredients For smokey texas bbq sauce

  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 5 Tbsp
    brown sugar ( i prefer dark )
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    liquid smoke flavoring

How To Make smokey texas bbq sauce

  • 1
    Stir all ingredients together, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hr stirring occasionally.

    Store left over sauce in a covered plastic container for up to 2 weeks. It's delicious. I also use this for brisket, chicken, and sloppy joes. :)
