old fashioned potato salad

When I had this at a friend's house I couldn't believe how close it was to my Mom's recipe. Mom never wrote the recipe down and I've been trying to make it for a long time. My friend was nice enough to share it with me and now I'm sharing it with you.

Ingredients For old fashioned potato salad

  • 4 c
    cubed peeled potatoes
  • 3
    hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • 2 stalk
    celery, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c
    chopped green onions
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper

How To Make old fashioned potato salad

    Place potatoes in saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until tender; drain. Place in a large bowl, add eggs, celery and green onions.

    In a small bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over potato mixture andd toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
