There are many versions of this dish out there. This one is my favorite. I love how it looks in a trifle dish. Great for summer picnics and parties. Tastes better the next day.

Ingredients For layered salad

  • 8 c
    iceberg lettuce
  • 1 md
    red onion sliced into rings
  • 10 pkg
    frozen peas thawed
  • 6 oz
    ham chunks
  • 2 lg
    tomatoes diced
  • 1 1/2 c
    real mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c
    grated parmesan
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 c
    sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 12 oz
    bacon cooked and crumbled

How To Make layered salad

  • 1
    Layer the lettuce,onions, peas, ham, and tomatoes in dish.
  • 2
    Mix together the mayo, parmesan, salt and pepper. spread over layers.

    Top with cheese then bacon
  • 4
    Let sit in fridge at least 6 hours overnight is better.
