My mom always made this for birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas...anytime the entire family got together for a special dinner. The fruits varied, depending on what was in season, what she happened to have on hand, or what looked good at the store the day she went shopping...but it was always delicious and it always began with pineapple and Jell-O vanilla pudding.
