cranberry relish

My grandmother would bring this every Thanksgiving. I could eat it all day. Now I make it for the holidays.

Ingredients For cranberry relish

  • 1 large box
    cherry jello( i use sugar free)
  • 1 c
    boiled water
  • 1 c
    cold water
  • 20 oz
    can crushed pineapple(drained)
  • 1 can
    small, mandarin oranges(drained)
  • 1 c
    celery(diced)
  • 1
    apple(diced)
  • 1 c
    sugar(i use 1/2 cup since the sugar free jello is so sweet)
  • 1 c
    walnuts or pecans(chopped)
  • 2 c
    cranberries

How To Make cranberry relish

  • 1
    Grind the cranberries in a food chopper. Chop the nuts,celery and apple. Drain the mandarin oranges and pineapple. Reserve the juice.

    In a large bowl,mix 1 c. boiling water with jello. Stir till dissolved. Add 1 c. cold water and juice from pineapple and mandarin oranges. Add sugar and stir to dissolve.

    Add the fruits, nuts, and celery and mix well. I have added mini marshmallows to make it kid friendly. Pour into a serving dish or mold. Chill overnight.
