Over the course of the winter we aquired over 10 squirrels at our feeder, the first was freddy.

Ingredients For freddy the squirrel's favorite mix

  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 1/4 c
    sunflower seeds without hulls
  • 1/4 c
    whole almonds
  • 1 pkg
    single serving apple oatmeal
  • 1
    handfull oat meal divided
  • 1/4 c
    bacon grease (optional)

How To Make freddy the squirrel's favorite mix

  • 1
    Sprinkle a little oatmeal in the bottom of a sandwitch size tupperware container. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and then pack into the container. Freeze for at least two hours or over night and put out for the squirrels. It fits in a square hanging feeder. Within minutes every squirrel within a block will run out for it.

    NOTE" this is a winter time treat as in summer it will melt from the heat
