Ingredients For wild rice turkey soup

    turkey breast bone on
  • 2
    bouillon cubes
  • 4
    celery ribs with leaves
  • 2
    small onions
  • 1 tsp
    celery salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 1
    large carrot
  • 2 c
    frozen peas
  • 1 tsp
    bay leaves, dried and crushed
  • 1 c
    wild rice, uncooked
  • 2 c
    white rice uncooked
  • 1 pt
    cream
  • low fat or skim milk - optional

How To Make wild rice turkey soup

    There are two ways you can do this recipe. One is on the stove, the other is in a crock pot. For both versions, dice the onion and celery. Place the breast in the pot and cover in water. Add onion, celery and seasonings. Cook until meat is cooked through but tender. About 4 hours in the crock pot, or boil for 20 minuets on the stove.

    Remove bird from pot, de-bone and cube. Return meat to pot and discard bones and fat. Cube carrots. Add carrots rice and wild rice. For stove top, cook on low until rice is tender. For crock pot, cook on high for another four hours.

    When rice is tender, add carton of cream and enough water or lowfat milk until base is smooth and creamy.
