Ingredients For monte cristo sandwich

  • 6 lg
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    sea salt
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 8 slice
    firm sandwich bread
  • 4 slice
    mozzarella cheese
  • 8 slice
    prosciutto
  • 8 slice
    roasted turkey, thinly sliced
  • 4 slice
    provolone cheese, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c
    salted butter

How To Make monte cristo sandwich

    Beat together eggs, milk, and salt. Pour in a shallow dish. Mix mayonnaise with garlic. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of mayonnaise mixture on one side of each slice of bread.

    Cover 4 slices of bread with mozzarella slice, then prosciutto and turkey, then provolone. Cover each with remaining slice of bread, spreadside down. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally.

    In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Meanwhile, dip sandwich halves in egg, coating well. Brown in hot butter, about 2 minutes per side.

    Repeat with remaining sandwich halves.
